Third grade learned about London

Over the past few weeks, the third grade has been learning about London. They started by watching an interactive presentation where they got to know the most famous landmarks, like the Tower of London, Buckingham Palace, and the London Eye.

Next, the students wrote postcards from London, using the things they had learned about the city. Some of them (AHS Gr.) also worked in groups to plan a three-day trip to London, including the flight, hotel, and a sightseeing schedule. Meanwhile, STD Gr. practiced the topic “asking the way”.

Each student then created a Lapbook, where they reported on different topics related to London, such as famous sights, the royal family, transportation, British food, and the British flag. After finishing their Lapbooks, the students presented them to the class in a circle, sharing what they had learned.

Finally, some of the students cooked a traditional English breakfast with Ms. Heigl, giving them a fun and tasty way to experience British culture.

It was a great learning experience, and the students are now much more familiar with London and its culture!
